Well, its been a while...

I've been neglecting my little blog. Well, here's a quick recap on what's happened since I last posted.

My mom & I made a 12 hour drive to Fort Benning, GA to watch Tim graduate from BCT. It was really exciting to see him for the first time in 2 1/2 months.

Reunited and it feels so good! :)

(MORE PICTURES COMING SOON!)

We spent 4 glorious days together before the Army stole him again for another month & a half. He will graduate Warrant Officer School in January & then we will finally get to act like we're married again and live in the same state. Yay for living with my husband again...BOO for it being so far away from our family!

I've been sick for over a week, so nothing exciting to report here. My life pretty much consisted of sleeping, watching movies, and sleeping some more. Laryngitis and pnuemonia officially SUCK....just in case you were wondering. Thankfully, I am finally feeling human again. Hopefully, I can get in gear and finish Christmas shopping in the next week or two.

Timothy got to call on Thanksgiving & talk for quite a while. It was AMAZING!! :) :) :) Love those phone calls. The Army really makes you appreciate communication. It was the first time he's gotten to call since he's been there.

He will be home for TWO WHOLE WEEKS in 20 days....actually 19 days, 11 hours, and 59 minutes. Not that I'm counting or anything

It's the final countdown!

The countdown has finally reached SINGLE DIGITS! I am so beyond ready to see him. We got to talk for an hour & a half last night. It was amazing. He also told me that he snail mailed me a picture of him! :) :) :)

AND

I got it today along with 3 letters!!! He looks so serious & handsome.

Let's face it, I am an organizational junkie and a planner!  Even when I was a little kid I had two boxes of crayons...one alphabetized & one sorted by color. My closet is sorted by type of garment (pants, sweatshirts, long sleeve, short sleeve, dresses) and color (light to dark) Not much has changed...

I love having a plan. I love knowing what I will be doing {or what I want to be doing} in a week, a month, a year, etc. Trips with me? Usually involve folders of information, maps, local restaurants, hotels, etc. My plans are becoming more flexible as I grow up (and with the nice shove from the Army), but there is always at least some sort of plan involved. I have already started packing for the trip to see him and my trip folder is complete.

Riley Turns 1

Our puppy Riley turned 1 today & my parent's schnauzer, Chloe, turned 2 this month so I made them a joint birthday cake. It was a peanut butter & carrot cake with a cream cheese frosting. I tried it, and it actually wasn't bad...just a little bland since it didn't have any sugar in it. It was a big hit with the dogs though.

I put it on a plate on the floor so the puppies could eat it...but Riley wouldn't eat off the plate. She knows she isn't allowed "people food" or to beg, and kept acting like she thought she would get in trouble.  She just sat and looked at it. Silly girl. Finally, we just handed her a little bite. She loved it, but she still wouldn't take any off the plate.  I also made them little party hats, but neither of them would wear them. Oh well....

Here's our happy birthday girl!

Eating cake must have made her tired...

Happy "Non-Birthday!"

Happy "Non-Birthday" to Us!

I had a great "non-birthday." I started off the morning with a surprise delivery from my love. It was a beautiful bouquet of pink & orange flowers that he picked out all by himself BEFORE he left in August. I LOVE them! I also got 2 letters in the mail that day; so my day just got better & better. That night I had dinner at Zapatas with my parents, Elissa, Matt, and Allison. I made a request before we went in that I didn't want to wear any silly hats or be sung to. WELL...my family held up their end of the bargain, but our waiter overheard Elissa call me the "birthday girl" and took it upon himself to bring me the sombrero & a whole gang of waiters to sing their version of "Happy Birthday." But hey, I got free dessert out of it & it was super yummy! When we got home, I had even more dessert-Birthday cake & ice cream! :) All things considered, it was a good day. I only wish I could have shared this day with my husband & that he had a good 24th birthday.

Last night I FINALLY ordered a shirt for Tim's graduation. I was being super indecisive, but I was running out of time so I made a decision. 24 days & counting until Family Day!!

Happy October

Happy October! I love this time of year...it means light jackets, leaves changing colors, and watching It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown. :) AND next month, I can start listening to Christmas music. Yes, I know I'm a dork...but that's ok.

My mom ordered me a pretty white peacoat for my birthday. I have been looking for one for a LONG time. I have a really hard time finding anything that fits that I like, but I finally did...Happy Birthday to me! I am not technically celebrating my birthday until November this year....I'm just going to stay 22 for another month. That's allowed, right?

It FINALLY came in today...yay! :) Here's a picture!

I've had a busy day...I got 4 or 5 inches cut off my hair (picture to come), closed an old bank account, went to the post office, shopped a little, and waited for 2 HOURS for my tire to get fixed, and now I'm doing laundry.

One month from tomorrow, I will be on my way to see my hubby! 33 days & counting. :)

Good Day

I finally got to talk to Tim tonight. It's been a long two weeks without hearing his voice. To make it even better...the phone call was supposed to be 10 minutes, but they ended up letting them have their phones for almost an hour!! Super excited about that. He sounds really good and is doing great. I'm sooo ready to see him. We're halfway there....5 more weeks to go! :)

On a completely different subject...I found Riley's Halloween costume today at Target. Tim laughed when I told him that she was going to be a bee...but said he didn't care! :) She's gonna be so cute.

Donations Appreciated

Ok, so my laptop is great....as a paperweight or for target practice. That's about it though. I really, really want to drop it off a really tall building. I don't want anything fancy...just something that works more than 12% of the time would be nice.

So, I am now collecting money for the "Amy Needs a Laptop" fund.  Any donations would be greatly appreciated. I accept cash, check, and credit donations.

I got to talk to Tim for 30 minutes tonight AND he sent me a picture from his phone.

My handsome soldier. ;)

I got a letter, I got a letter, I got a letter, hey hey hey!

I FINALLY got another letter! Tim said that they have been super busy & haven't had ANY free time. Silly army & all their rules. BUT, he did sneak in a few minutes to write me! Yay! I also booked hotel rooms today for his graduation. Super excited. Not really looking forward to the 10 1/2 hour drive there, but it will totally be worth it.

7 more weeks....think it's too early to start packing my bags?

Wahooo!

I finally got Tim's address. It took 3 weeks, but I finally have it. I just went to the post office & dropped off about 8 envelopes with tons of letters, a book of stamps, and address labels. I know he'll be excited to get them. I've gotten a couple letters from him, but he has not gotten anything! I hope he gets them soon! 54 days & counting until I get to see him.

I also found out that I get to drive him to his next duty station. I'm so excited for 2 reasons.

1. Most importantly, I get to spend more time with him.
2. I get to see the base that we'll be living at for the next year and half to 2 years. I can see what the area looks like and what is nearby.

Hopefully I'll get to make a trip to see him while he's at WOCS too. We'll see.

Life as an Army Wife

It's official...I'm an army wife. Tim left about 2 weeks ago for Fort Benning, GA for training. He'll be there until the first week in November. I'll be flying and/or driving to his graduation! Yay!! Can't wait to see him. I can't imagine what he looks like with a shaved head! However, the excitement will be short lived as he will be leaving 2 days later for 6 more weeks of training in Alabama. I won't be able to move with him yet because we won't have time to find a house before his training starts. Boo. Around the first of the year though we will finally get to live together again like a real married couple. We'll be in the same time zone, state, house, and everything! He'll be starting flight school soon after that, so he'll be super busy flying and studying.

In the past two weeks, I've gotten 2 phone calls that were about 5 minutes long and a couple of letters! Letters & phone calls are very exciting and a very big deal. He was in reception for a while so I don't have an address for him, but hopefully I will get it on Sunday (if they get to call) so I can start sending him some of the letters that I've already written him.

61 days and counting....

I'm baaaaccckk!

So, I forgot that I had one of these things...but I'm back. Since I last posted, Tim & I finally got married, went on an awesome cruise, and he joined the army! Life's been busy.

The wedding was amazing. It started off as a nasty stormy day, but moments before the wedding, the rain stopped & the sun came out. Tim & I even saw a double rainbow as we were leaving town. I didn't even care about the stupid little things that happened leading up to the wedding....(like the dying flowers, the torrential downpour, the first dance song that wouldn't play, etc. etc. ) they just didn't seem to matter anymore. As soon as I was in my dress, waiting to walk down the aisle...nothing else mattered.

The cruise was great too! We had so much fun & it's a great way to visit different countries. We visited Jamaica, the Caymen Islands, & Cozumel & Playa de Carmen, Mexio.

We found out yesterday that Timothy has officially been accepted into WOFT. WOFT is Warrant Officer Flight Training. He is signing a 6 year committment & will be a helicopter pilot for the army. I am so proud & I know he is super excited. In a couple months the two of us will be making the big move to Alabama for him to do his training.

I'll update as I know more details.

MORE Pictures :)

Ok, I can take a hint...I'll add a few more pictures now & I'll add a lot more later!!

Here's me with the coolest hat EVER at the zoo! I have this serious problem...anytime I see super awesome hats, I HAVE to try them on. I never buy them...but I take picture in them. I have lots of pictures just like this one. I'm sure I make my fiance proud.

Now, on to the cute little critters at the zoo. I want one...except my yard would look worse than it already does. Eesh. I LOVE sea turtles. I really hope I get to see one in the wild someday.

Ok, so is it just me or do these kangaroos look dead?!? Everytime I see it, I wonder...why do I have a picture of a dead roo on my computer...It must have been their naptime when we were there because we didn't get to see any hopping. Bummer! They are both just so stinking cute. Everyone gives their dogs piggy back rides, right? I just want to see him do this when she weight 65 lbs! HAHA!

It's been a while..

It's been a while since I got on here, and I FINALLY uploaded about a thousand pictures (ok, 187) from our camera, so enjoy! :)

First, here are some updated pictures of our adorable fur-child, Riley! She had her last set of puppy shots today & at a few days over 4 months she weights 35 lbs. She's getting so big!!

A few weeks ago, Elissa & Matt came to see us and although both Tim & Elissa weren't feeling well, we still managed to go to the Fort Worth Water Gardens & the zoo! Here's a picture of Tim & I at the gardens, and one of Tim's "special friend" from the zoo. So, Tim was running a pretty high temperature that day & was all doped up on cough medicine....which led to a pretty hilarious dance the two of them shared. I only wish I had taken a video of it...sigh.

My First Blog

My sister has one of these things and I thought it would be neat to make one too. The only problem is...I don't really know what I'm doing or what to write. So, I'm just going to give you guys the update on the two of us.

These days our lives are pretty simple. Tim & I recently graduated from college & moved to Arlington, TX. It's a big change from living in Arkadelphia. We are getting married April 18th & I CAN'T WAIT!! I'm ready for the planning phase to be completely over & the wedding day to be here! I'm just praying for a sunshiney day! We have a 3 month old Standard Poodle named Riley. She is adorable, but she's a mess. She keeps us busy, but we wouldn't change it for anything else. She keeps us extremely entertained. We are also very excited about becoming an aunt/uncle soon. Elissa is going to have a GIRL in June....name yet to be decided.
I'll write more later once I figure this thing out a little more.
